TPU is the abbreviation of Thermoplastic Urethane, and the Chinese name is thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer.


TPU is a polymer material formed by the joint reaction and polymerization of diisocyanate molecules such as methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) or toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and macromolecular polyols and low-molecular polyols (chain extenders). Its molecular structure is composed of the rigid blocks obtained by the reaction of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) or toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and chain extenders, and the flexible segments obtained by the reaction of diisocyanate molecules such as methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) or toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and macromolecular polyols. TPU has excellent characteristics of high tensile strength, high tensile strength, toughness and aging resistance, and is a mature environmentally friendly material.


At present, TPU has been widely used in medical and health, electronic appliances, industry and sports, etc., it has other plastic materials can not be matched with high strength, good toughness, wear resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, water resistance, aging resistance, weather resistance and other characteristics, at the same time, it has high waterproof moisture permeability, windproof, cold, antibacterial, mildew-proof, warm, ultraviolet resistance and energy release and many other excellent functions.


Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer TPU can be divided into polyester type and polyether type according to the molecular structure, and can be divided into injection molding grade, extrusion grade, blow molding grade, etc. according to the processing method.
